Nicolis Project is also one of the Small Giants, according to Forbes

Forbes magazine has included us in the 2023 Small Giants category thanks to excellent turnover results and the company’s progress over recent years.

The Forbes Small Giants list published on 6 April included Nicolis Project. This achievement fills us with pride, given our team’s commitment over recent years.

Under the leadership of our General Manager, Enrico Romano, our turnover has tripled since 2020, consolidating our market position.

“In two and a half years our turnover has gone from 12 million, reported in June 2020, to 41 million euro in December 2022,” explains Romano. “Performance which saw our company recognised twice as a Growth Leader, an award presented by Il Sole 24 Ore and Statista to the top 500 Italian companies for increases in turnover.” Nicolis Project is forging ahead thanks to solid leadership in the digitalisation of retail and a period of significant expansion. “We had set ourselves a target turnover of 35 million in 2025. Having reached 41 million in 2022, we are now aiming for 60 million,” the general manager clarified.  The prospects for continued growth are excellent. “It is currently estimated that electronic labels involve just 20-25% of the Italian retail market, but it’s easy to imagine that everyone will want them in the short to medium-term.”

This is the result of a winning management vision and a successful team, not to mention a range of innovative, high-performance products that have won over the trust of many players in the world of retail.

“The current electronic labels last for ten years without having to change the battery, enabling prices and promotions to be updated easily in shops and product expiry dates to be managed such as to avoid food waste. Moreover, return on investment is between six and nine months. Given these figures the product appeal to supermarkets and hypermarkets in particular is understandable,” the manager continues.

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE LABEL

ON THE FUTURE AND DIGITALISING RETAIL AND LOGISTICS.

The keywords for Nicolis Project in this phase have been expansion and internationalisation, as stressed in the article:

At first the sectors demonstrating interest in digitalising shops were the food and retail industries, and in recent years this has expanded to include the pet market, DIY stores and pharmacies. A tangible sign of interest in the solutions offered by Nicolis Project. The company’s growth is also underpinned by its push towards internationalisation. While the heart of the company beats in Veneto, the company also operates in Spain – a new branch has just opened in Barcelona – and a software development department is situated in India, which reports to the Italian headquarters. “The opening of the new premises in Barcelona coincides with growth in the Spanish market from one to four million euro. Our aim is also to become the first company in the Iberian market targeting a turnover of 60 million, and then we’re looking at opening premises in New York and Dubai.”
The Veneto company is therefore planning to consolidate its presence in countries where it’s already operating, and to capture new markets by expanding its range of operation. “Nicolis Project is planning on entering the world of fashion and luxury with new digital signage products. This project is already underway and will come onto the market in 2024,” states Romano. Finally, the Veneto company has entered the logistics market with its new On Light solution, enabling the virtual management of physical space and increasing productivity. A commercial reality where the plan is to invest in order to strengthen our presence, given the large growth margins.
